This German-made version is crafted from stainless steel attached to a highly figured Italian olive wood handle. The fine grit steel works great on both Messermeister Elite and Japanese knife lines by restoring the knife’s edge, smoothing and re-aligning it to maintain an enduring sharpness. We do not recommend using this steel on serrated or scalloped blades.
