Bamboo Matcha Scoop (Chashaku)
This is a chashaku, a traditional Japanese tea scoop made from bamboo. It is used in the Japanese tea ceremony to measure and transfer powdered green tea (matcha) into a tea bowl. The scoop is typically about 18 cm (7 inches) long, with one end gently curved to hold the tea powder.

Material and Craftsmanship
Chashaku are usually handcrafted from a single piece of bamboo, giving them a natural and elegant appearance. The curved tip is shaped by heating and bending the bamboo, a process that requires skill and precision.

Usage in Tea Ceremony
In a formal tea ceremony, the chashaku is used alongside other tools such as the chawan (tea bowl) and chasen (bamboo whisk). It helps ensure the correct amount of matcha is used, typically one to two scoops per serving.
